Simone Biography

Born Lisa Celeste Stroud in Westchester, NY, singer, actress and performer Simone is the daughter of musical legend and freedom fighter Nina Simone. She was raised across three different continents (North America, Africa, and Europe) and in turn has experienced a life full of music, foreign language, culture and constant movement in a variety of countries she now calls home .

Simone has been building a career as a vocalist and performer in touring musical productions (Jesus Christ Superstar), jazz bands (Liquid Soul), with international touring artists (Raphael), as well as Broadway performances (Rent, The Lion King, Aida). Towards the end of her last role as the lead in Disney's Aida, her mother passed away and Simone took over the most challenging role of her career thus far - executor of her mother's estate. Since taking over Nina's estate several years ago, Simone is now going forward with her musical career.

Prior to her passing, Nina left Simone a large collection of charts for compositions she had used for recording and performing over the years. Some of these included the songs made famous by Nina Simone, others were unique arrangements of Nina's hits, and still others were never performed or recorded. These charts became the basis for Simone's newest record that was recorded in May 2007 with the help of legendary jazz producer and musician Bob Belden.

This very special album is entitled Simone On Simone and features the musicianship of Pennsylvania's foremost big band, The Rob Stoneback Big Band - a tight group that has been performing together for over twenty years. In addition, the record includes the composition titled the 'Child In Me' written by Simone about her relationship with her mother. Also contained is a very rare recording made in Dublin, Ireland with Nina Simone and her daughter performing together for the first time on stage. Together this incredible combination of talent created what is sure to be one of the most exciting and emotional records of the year.

This project was inspired by the incredible reception received last Spring for 'Simone: Live at Town Hall - A Tribute to Nina Simone's 1959 New York City's Town Hall Performance with Dr. Simone's original band.' The evening's performance was recorded and filmed and is in the process of being edited. Excerpts from last night's show will also be on DVD and included in a special limited addition package.

Upon receipt of the information included in the Consultation & Artist Info Package, Buyer agrees that ERG has fulfilled its obligations under this agreement and releases ERG from any and all liability to the maximum extent allowed by law, and will indemnify and hold harmless ERG, its directors, officers, employees, and agents, from and against any and all claims arising from this agreement and subsequent event including but not limited to all third party claims, losses, damages, suits, fees, judgments, costs and expenses (collectively referred to as 'Claims'), including attorneys' fees incurred in responding to such Claims, that the parties may suffer or incur arising out of or in connection with (a) a party’s negligence, willful misconduct, or breach of any representation, warranty, or other obligation under this Agreement, or (b) any personal injury (including death) or damage to property resulting from a party or its agents' acts or omissions and standard force majeure. The parties will give prompt notice of any Claim to the other party, and the parties will defend the opposing party at their request. This Agreement will be governed by, construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State of NEVADA.
